RBC Wealth Management

RBC Wealth Management is one of the world's top 10 largest wealth managers, leveraging global capabilities to bring excellence in advice and solutions to their clients. They wanted to be closer to the financial core and opted to relocate from RBC Centre to RBC Plaza to better serve their clients.

Our Construction Management mandate was to demolish the existing interior and construct new offices, reception and meeting rooms. This workspace has high-end finishes with wood flooring and a stone wall in reception, drywall ceilings throughout, both direct and indirect pendant lighting, and Teknion Optos glass walls for the fronts of the meeting rooms and private offices.

This space was approximately 85% built out with 15% open space, which left little open area for on site material storage. Flat Iron worked with the subtrades to ensure on time material delivery to minimize their double handling. We worked closely with furniture dealership Holmes and Brakel to monitor delivery of Teknion Optos glass fronts. Guaranteed hold to open dimensions meant that product was ordered prior to walls going up. With tenants occupying the floors above and below the area of construction meant that Flat Iron and its subtrades had to be very cognizant about noise. This was strictly monitored throughout the project.

Flat Iron was successful in mitigating both risks and challenges and was able to turn over the space to the client on time and within budget.
